New Tools for Peace Celebrating the Arts as a key to social change

Jerusalem Was Once

A dusty irrelevance
Too far from the ocean
For the ancient Hebrews
A mere rest-stop
After Bethlehem
To the first Christian Pilgrims
A flea
Compared to Mecca or Medina
For early Muslims
And Buddhists
Were, of course, non-attached
What happened ?
Now it's the big cheese
All the mice want every slice
Except the Buddhists
Still, of course, non-attached
Let's invite the Dalai Lama
To unify Jerusalem
In its diversity
A spiritual university
For all the world
